Programme Description

This programme provides participants with the prospect to develop their knowledge and competences in vocational content, pedagogy and assessment. It aims to provide those within or wishing to join the education sector with the necessary tools and competences to teach effectively in the secondary and vocational sector whilst fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all learners. Within this programme, learners shall also be given the opportunity to develop the core knowledge and skills required in the health and social care sector including working with adolescents, caring and supporting individuals as well as anatomy and physiology.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to be in possession of the following:

An MQF Level 3 (Grade 1-5, or equivalent) in Maltese, English Language and Mathematics.

In addition to at least one of the following:

An awarded MATSEC Certificate or equivalent (MQF 4) including a grade C or better in Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Home Economics or Sociology or Psychology at Intermediate Level.
An MQF Level 4 vocational qualification with a minimum 120 ECTS in Health and Social Care, Nutrition, Childcare or a cognate area deemed relevant by the Institute for Education.
Three subjects at Advanced Level (MQF 4) including a grade C or better in Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Home Economics or Sociology and another subject, and at least a Grade D in the third subject.
Two subjects at Advanced Level (MQF 4) at grade C or better including Biology or Home Economics and three intermediate subjects with a minimum grade D.
